Capture actions
The capture actions make it very easy to make screen captures and save them to
file or clipboard; you can even edit them in the tool editor (based on source code provided by
XtractPro), for e.g. easy and quick cropping and resizing, or send your
screenshot to Team Foundation Server in a new or existing work item, a very
useful functionality if you're a developer or tester. While the save to
file option will replace the content of the pre-defined file every time, the
same to folder option will instead add the new captured image to the folder by
incrementing the file name with an index.
There are many possible actions including:
- Capture of the entire screen; in case of multiple screens the screen containing
the foreground window is selected
- Capture the foreground window
- Capture any area, defined by simply dragging your mouse from the to left to the
bottom right corner of the targetted area on your screen
Tips:
-
Consider only saving to your clipboard to avoid cluttering your hard disk with
temp images
-
When saving to file, the image goes to a file called by default signo.png on
your desktop
-
Use the save to folder option if yuo want to perform multiple captures and then
sort them out later; by default those will be placed in a signo folder in your
"My Documents" directory.
